This week, Trailhead had the pleasure of attending the Health Tech Challenge, put on by the Boise State Venture College and Health Tech Idaho! This reverse pitch competition started at Boise Entrepreneur Week, where teams of students were given a prompt to solve in a few-week sprint. Top three pitches were OneHealth, focusing on medication adherence for diabetes patients; Vantage, a solution to prevent and identify pressure injuries; and Beyond Beauty Brushes, which uses 3D printing to create custom grips, helping individuals with spinal cord injuries tackle everyday tasks. Congrats and thank you to the teams from Boise State University, Brigham Young University - Idaho, Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine, and University of Idaho who all entered this competition!

?? Winner Spotlight: Rattler Medical Solutions Founded by combat medic veteran Donald Young, Rattler Medical Solutions is revolutionizing medical logistics with their Cold Whole Blood Cooler. This innovative technology helps save lives by improving blood transport in austere environments. Donald won the 2024 BEW main pitch competition for a grand prize of $50,000! Changing the future of emergency medical care, we're stoked to see the strides that Rattler Medical Solutions will continue to make in the healthcare industry and beyond.

Winner spotlight: Sabrina Sherwood, founder of Idaho Barkery What started in a tiny kitchen as one pharmacist's mission to help her allergic pup has grown into Idaho's premier source for grain-free, hypoallergenic dog treats. Lab-tested and state-approved, Idaho Barkery proves that Minimal Ingredients really do create Excessive Tailwags! Sabrina pitched Idaho Barkery at the 2024 Trailmix competition at BEW and won the grand prize of $50,000, as well as a consumer test project with studio\Blu Idaho! We're excited to cheer Sabrina on as she continues making waves with Idaho Barkery!

Wow - we are blown away by how incredible Boise Entrepreneur Week 2024 was! ?? Each year, we work to bring together Idaho's startup community for a week full of education, networking, panel discussions, and opportunities for growth as we propel Idaho's businesses forward. Boise Entrepreneur Week just wrapped up its 8th year, and we wouldn't be here without the amazing community support from attendees and sponsors. This year, BEW surpassed $1 million in award money to pitch competition winners, a record milestone as we continue to Bet on Boise. Congratulations to Rattler Medical Solutions (Donald Young) and STEM Forged for being the 1st place and runner-up winners of the BEW pitch competition, as well as Idaho Barkery (Sabrina Sherwood) and BACON Boise! for their 1st and 2nd place wins in the Trailmix Competition! We are so proud of these entrepreneurs as they push boundaries and create live-changing solutions with their innovative products.
