San Francisco Chronicle Urban Design Critic John King recently wrote about?11 buildings that "tell the story of San Francisco in the 21st Century." Among them is the Presidio Visitor Center, designed by our practice in 2017. A departure point for exploring this 1,491-acre former army post at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. The visitor center, a former jailhouse dating to 1900, holds an exhibit space, "a terrific topographical map of the historic landscape," and more. ? Working with Plant Construction Company, LP, Knapp Architects (historic preservation consultant), Apeiro Design, Macchiato strategic design, and others, we created a place for visitors to immerse themselves in both the history of the building and the Presidio.?Click on the link to read the article: https://lnkd.in/eVynFFXk

We're honored to have Pleasant Hill Library recognized with a 2024 AIA California Design Award! Working with the City of Pleasant Hill to create its first civic building in many years, the project team created an inclusive community destination where visitors of all ages feel welcome and encouraged to learn, create, and explore. The awards jury noted that "the way the building brings daylight in and modulates with these special rooms makes it an exceptional space." ? We are proud to share this recognition with our wonderful client and team collaborators, including EinwillerKuehl Landscape Architecture, Margaret Sullivan Studio, Swinerton Management & Consulting, BHM Construction, Rutherford + Chekene, Introba, Apeiro Design, Sherwood Design Engineers, and Etsuki Creative.
