关于我们
Bobcat Racing is a Formula SAE Student team based at Texas State University. Each year, the Society of Automotive Engineers hosts multiple FSAE competitions worldwide where the students are tested to fund, design, manufacture, and develop a formula-style race car. The competition puts the teams’ efforts to the test with rigorous rule scrutineering and performance testing to see who not only designed and built the best car but who also managed the project and funded it as a whole. Over 80 members strong, mixed with Manufacturing, Computer Science, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, and Business majors, our team has had a robust foundation and recurring membership. With our already several thousand hours logged, our team continues to grow with all experience levels, allowing our team to grow as individuals.

Bobcat Racing has been busy! Thorough testing of our previous motor revealed extensive internal damage, forcing us to start the quest for a new motor. We found a new donor motorcycle, a Yamaha FZ6, that we were able to test ride to better ensure its reliability. Tomorrow, 12/1, is senior design day at the Ingram School of Engineering. Student projects, including ones from student organizations like FSAE, will be on display at 1 pm in Ingram Hall. Bobcat Racing will have a table with a racing simulator set up for those wishing to get a taste of what our organization is all about! We will be on the first floor in the lobby of Ingram, across from the Makerspace, which is where our workshop is. The Makerspace will be open for tours and the team will still be continuing with our typical Friday meeting and workday, so please feel free to drop by and talk cars with us while we check and adjust the valves on our new motor!
