The BoatUS Foundation for Boating Safety and Clean Water is an innovative leader promoting safe, clean and responsible boating. The Foundation provides educational outreach directly to boaters and supports partner organizations nationwide. With millions of boaters on the water, our aim is to reduce accidents and fatalities, increase stewardship of our waterways and keep boating a safe and enjoyable pastime. The BoatUS Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our work is primarily funded by grants and individual donations.

    In 1998, Donna Morrow brought her experience as a boater and a marine professional to Maryland Department of Natural Resources’ Clean Marina Initiative. Today she leads the Office of Marine and Coastal Stewardship where she oversees the Maryland Clean Marina Initiative, Maryland’s Clean Vessel Act grant program, and the Coastal Consistency program. Donna also serves on the Mid Atlantic Regional Council on the Ocean’s marine debris working group, and co-chairs Maryland DNR’s R3 Matrix Team. Before coming to DNR, Donna worked extensively in the boating industry and maintains a 50 ton USCG captain’s license. Donna is one of our many experienced leaders speaking at the first ever BoatUS Foundation "Turning the Tide" summit aimed at making a difference in boating-related marine debris disposal!     Introducing Troy Wood, a presenter at our first ever BoatUS Foundation "Turning the Tide: Online" summit aimed at turning the tide on boating-related marine debris disposal. Troy works for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as Program Manager for the Derelict Vessel Removal Program (DVRP); a position he has held since June 2016. Troy previously worked for DNR as a Natural Resource Specialist in the DVRP. Prior to working for DNR Troy served in the U.S. Air Force as a Structural Maintenance Section Chief. Upon his retirement from the USAF, Troy attended UW Tacoma where he received a BS in Business Management.     Tracey Coe, Clean Marina Coordinator for the Ohio River Basin, provides education and outreach to marinas and the recreational boating community with the goal of protecting Ohio's water quality. Tracey holds a master’s in Natural Resource Management from Virginia Tech. Prior to her position with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Tracey served as a park ranger with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service, and the Department of Conservation in New Zealand.
