Bluestock Advisors team member, Jeff Hammill, listened to today’s webinar hosted by Home Improvement Research Institute (HIRI) (www.hiri.org) and shared his thoughts: Great insights from the HIRI Podcast today where YipitData presented their key Home Improvement learnings from Q4 and 2024.?It was great to hear the year finished strong in Q4 with strong seasonal and holiday demand. ?? Amazon continued to increase share penetration in small appliances, household vacuum cleaners, home decor accents given the holiday season promotions. ?? HD and LOW maintained share across broader home improvement categories but saw strong competition from Amazon in power tool kits. ?? 2024 continued to see price decreases in Appliances which is a good sign inflation is slowing for large durable goods. Celebrate MLK Weekend with "Remember, Reflect, Act" As we celebrate MLK weekend, it's a powerful reminder to embody our own versions of "remember, reflect, act." For each of us, these words might hold different meanings and inspire unique actions. For my family, this weekend was an opportunity to participate in an ecumenical service at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cartersville. It was a moment to come together with our community, honor Dr. King's legacy, and draw strength from our shared faith. Despite the bitter 15-degree weather that kept us from running the 5K, the spirit of unity was undeniable. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and work were guided by steadfast faith and a commitment to justice. He showed us the power of acting not out of fear, but out of belief in a better future. This lesson resonates across all areas of our lives, from leading our companies to guiding our families and ourselves. At Bluestock Advisors, we strive to embody Dr. King's legacy by reflecting on our values and actions. Are we standing up for what is right, leading with faith, and promoting justice and equity? Acting in Dr. King's spirit means making deliberate choices to create positive change. It’s about using our platforms, voices, and resources to uplift others.
