?? Auxier, KY Service Trip Recap From March 9th to 12th, our team — 4 staff members and 5 students — partnered with Hand In Hand Ministries to support families affected by recent flooding. ?? ?? On Monday, we completed a 70 ft. ramp for Mr. Fred Powers' family, ensuring safer, easier access to their home. ??? On Tuesday, we removed molded hardwood flooring from the first floor of Ms. Cathy Sorrell's home, helping her prepare for a full renovation. Beyond the hard work, our students enjoyed some well-earned fun and bonding time. ?? ? Special thanks to Hand in Handfor their unwavering hospitality — from delicious meals to comfortable accommodations — and to Mrs. Naoma Gail Goble and her team for making us feel right at home. ?? A huge shoutout to our students for showing up, working hard, and representing Blueprint 502 with pride. ?? And of course, thank you to the families for welcoming us into your homes and trusting us to help. It was truly an unforgettable experience for everyone involved! ?? ?? Program hosted an incredible Career Fair at Meyzeek Middle School, where the entire student body had the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths! From Tech and Healthcare to Nonprofits and Entrepreneurship, students engaged with professionals from various industries, gaining insight into exciting futures. This Black History Month, we honor Charles Bowser, the trailblazer behind career academies. In 1969, then Deputy Mayor of Philadelphia Charles Bowser collaborated with Lee Everett to address the overwhelming high school dropout rate. Their innovative solution? The first Career Academy at Edison High School, where all 25 students in the inaugural class successfully graduated. His visionary model in Philadelphia Academies, Inc. bridged academics and career training, opening doors for minority students who were historically overlooked. His legacy proves that when we invest in education, we invest in our future.
