?? Will Spring Come Early? Get a Head Start with Milk Carton Greenhouses! ?? As we eagerly await Groundhog Day on Sunday, February 2, why not get ready for Spring and jumpstart the growing season? Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to create your own Milk Carton Greenhouse—a simple yet highly effective way to germinate native seedlings! Using just a repurposed milk carton, soil, and seeds, this method mimics nature's process while offering key advantages: ? Protects seeds from wind, harsh weather, and hungry critters ?? ? Utilizes the sun’s warmth to encourage healthy early growth ?? ? Prepares strong seedlings that will be ready to plant by spring ?? By starting in February or March, your native plants—like Black-eyed Susans, Coneflowers, and Blazing Stars—will have a head start, making your garden or restoration project thrive even sooner. Plus, this technique is low-cost, eco-friendly, and easy for gardeners of all skill levels! ?? Let’s grow together! ?? Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/ewgP-7Aw ?? ?? Winter might make us want to hibernate, but the work at Blue Heron Headwaters Conservancy never takes a break! Our incredible team and volunteers are out all year restoring habitats, removing invasive species, and protecting the natural spaces we all treasure. Meanwhile, some of Michigan’s wildlife are in their own winter survival mode: ?? Little brown bats are nestled in caves, ?? Tree frogs are literally frozen in time, ?? And eastern box turtles are buried in the mud, patiently waiting for spring. Just as these animals depend on their habitats, our lands depend on your support to thrive year-round. Join us as a volunteer or become a recurring donor to help sustain this vital work in every season! ?? Want to get involved and help us with our mission?
