Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend and colleague, Joseph T. Yun, Ph.D., who serves as the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Architect at the University of Pittsburgh and CEO of?bluefoxlabs.ai. While some view AI as a potential societal threat and others as a quick-fix solution, in this clip from our conversation, Dr. Joe suggests the truth lies somewhere in the middle. AI is indeed transforming the way we live and work, but the key question remains:?How can we leverage this to enhance our lives, careers, and businesses? Watch the full episode to gain practical, balanced insights from a true leader in the AI field.?#CAREtoLead #AILeadership #Innovation #ResponsibleAI

In a speed-dating experiment, syncing participants' smiles increased romantic attraction. Not at all surprising, but the study is noteworthy because the manipulations were done in real-time, without people knowing. Maybe this tech has legitimate uses. But the ratio of research on AI capabilities to consequences feels woefully lopsided. How irreparably damaged will our trust in technology be when people realize their "authentic" interactions were manipulated for effect? How jarring will uncalibrated in-person interactions feel to those who "adapt" to such technology? Most people probably don't want technology to puppeteer their social interactions (let alone interact with people passing off these manipulations as authentic). But we’ll only be certain when we put as much care and precision into our measurements of AI’s consequences as we do its capabilities. ps if know people or orgs that are doing that type of ethical/consequential ai research/application, please comment or dm me! https://lnkd.in/gJuW6vzV

This is a really important poll. We must empower young people to navigate the impact of AI on their future careers with realistic insights and preparation! (re-worded this a bit after posting)
Which employees expect to be using artificial intelligence on the job in the future? At least half of U.S. workers believe gaining AI skills will help their careers progress, according to the latest findings of LinkedIn’s Workforce Confidence survey — and just under third of workers expressed doubt that AI will have much impact on their jobs in the future. The survey found that the youngest and oldest employees have more doubts about AI impacting their jobs. Meanwhile, mid-career employees are more likely to be focused on upskilling right now in response to advances in AI. Four in ten Gen Zers said they doubted AI would impact their roles, followed by 36% of baby boomers. Just 29% of millennials and Gen Xers agreed. When it comes to gaining AI skills to further their careers, mid-career millennials are leading the charge; 54% agreed, followed by 53% of Gen X workers. In contrast, 45% of baby boomers and just 39% of Gen Z workers agreed. ? Are you gaining new AI skills right now? If so, what are you learning? Weigh in below. ??: Rachel Cromidas ??: Allie Lewis, Bud Rashidian
