Private equity (PE) firms are leveraging M&A to tap into the U.S. #watertreatment chemicals market. In August, PE firm TJC acquired USALCO from H.I.G. Capital for an estimated US$2 billion. Baltimore, Maryland-based USALCO manufactures aluminum-based chemicals used in #industrial and #municipalwater and #wastewater treatment segments. Under H.I.G., USALCO transformed itself from a regionally focused operational base of 9 facilities to 33 facilities across North America. USALCO now has the fourth largest footprint in the U.S. coagulant space.
