According to a Vermont Department of Health report released in 2023, one in six Vermont adults say they have poor mental health. That statistic alone proves that many of our members need access to quality mental health care.? “Mental health is just as important as physical health,” says Chief Medical Officer Tom Weigel MD, MBA. “By removing barriers and expanding access to care, we’re ensuring that our members can get the support they need when they need it.” We’re focused on improving access and removing barriers to care by:? ??Eliminating prior approval for all in-state, in-network mental health services and substance use disorder treatments? ??Offering virtual and face-to-face therapy support options for all members? ??Providing access to a network of over 2,600 mental health therapists ? ??Collaborating with care partners on innovative programs like Vermont Collaborative Care (VCC) which integrates mental health with physical health care? Vermont's only local, non-profit health plan provider. We are Vermonters keeping Vermonters well.
关于我们
Located on a scenic hillside in the central Vermont community of Berlin, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont has been a primary part of Vermont’s health care system for more than 30 years, providing thousands of Vermonters with health benefits and services. Indeed, we are an independent, local, not-for-profit Vermont company, managed locally, and our sole focus is Vermont. An independent licensee of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, our affiliation with the national system provides our members with the security of seamless, discounted health care services when they travel across the country or abroad, but we exist solely to serve Vermonters. We believe our single-state focus allows our employees to bring highly personalized service to our customers and members. It also enables us to work closely with our state’s communities and health care providers to manage costs and improve the quality of health care, and to adapt our organization to meet Vermont’s changing needs. Our benefits package offers health, vision, life and employer-paid dental insurance, as well as 24 days off per year and 8 paid holidays. Tuition reimbursement, new parent leave, a 401k and pension are just some of our other offerings. Our STRIVE Health and Wellness Program offers a $500 incentive after completion of wellness goals each year. The program has evolved in the past 15 years into a holistic one, offering on-site fitness rooms and classes, personal training, Lunch & Learns, nutritional counseling, meditation, working walk stations, free on-site massages, CSA shares and more. Check out our website, www.bluecrossvt.org, for more info on all of these initiatives!

Home is your first place and work is your second place. A third place is a public space where you can relax and socialize with other people. Having this place can help alleviate loneliness and improve your well-being. These are some characteristics to look for in a Third Place: - Neutral ground. People have little to no obligation to go there. - A leveling place. Socioeconomic status doesn’t matter in third places. - Conversation is the main activity. The tone of conversation is usually light-hearted and humorous. - Accessibility. They must be open and readily accessible to everyone. - Regular crowd. There should be a number of people who visit regularly, helping to give the place its tone and set the mood. - Low profile. It should not be grandiose and have a cozy feel. - Playful mood. The conversation is never tense or hostile. - A home away from home. Patrons should have the same sense of warmth and belonging as they do in their own homes.
