Shared some thoughts with CoinDesk on what’s next in #tokenization now that the US Treasury and Money Market product suite is nearing $2 billion in collective assets. Token-based investors are typically seeking active two-sided markets, with liquidity facilitated through fund redemptions, peer-to-peer swaps, or regulated secondary trading marketplaces. To date, swiftly-executed fund redemptions have been the most successful, looking at market leaders like Ondo Finance and Franklin Templeton. The alternative investment space has seemingly missed this takeaway in its mission to bring alts #onchain. For alternative and private asset issuers, it's worth considering how to best match the mechanics that these issuers and products have established to attract some of this $2 billion in short-term liquidity fund capital. Blue Water Financial Technologies Services LLC. seeks to connect the $14 trillion US Residential Mortgage industry with digital asset capital markets through its existing avenues of liquidity. In my opinion, mortgage assets have the potential to rival crypto yield strategies as yield-generating assets themselves, positioning this strongly within the #RealWorldAsset narrative. https://lnkd.in/eZEJre7P
