Last week, we proudly launched our?newest Employee Resource Group (ERG), dedicated to supporting the veteran community. This group will provide a space where our veteran employees and their allies can connect, share resources and build a strong, supportive community here at Blue Owl. To celebrate, we hosted an event at our New York office with former U.S. Navy Blue Angels pilots from 360 Leadership Group, who shared invaluable lessons on maintaining culture through organizational change, teamwork and resilience from their time in the cockpit. Our veterans-centered ERG will be led by John McAneny, Blue Owl Principal and former U.S. Navy Officer, and Brant Gresham, CFA, Blue Owl Managing Director and former U.S. Navy Officer. A big thanks to everyone who attended and participated!

Earlier this month at Blue Owl, we celebrated Diwali – the festival of lights and new beginnings. In partnership with Aksia, we hosted AAAIM’s NYC Chapter event, which brought our community together for a Diwali-inspired night of networking, insightful panel discussions and more. Managing Director and Chair of BOBA (Blue Owl Boosting APIDA) Andrew Kim kicked off the event with inspiring opening remarks, followed by a panel moderated by Aksia’s David Sheng. During the discussion, Blue Owl Managing Director Sandip Agarwala spoke about his experience as a South Asian in the alternative investment industry and offered insights on public and private markets in India – alongside Srini Sriniwasan (Kotak), Sammy Suzuki (AllianceBernstein) and Preet Chawla, CFA (Carnegie Corporation). Our team also heard from Michelin-starred chef Surbhi Sahni of TAGMO in a fireside chat with Deepa Patil (One Rock Capital Partners), and enjoyed a performance from Shehnaaz Jagasia’s Dance Academy.
