Don't forget to come by and say hi every once in a while ??????
In October, I wrapped up and incredible summer & fall internship as a Whale Research Intern aboard the M/V Granite State with the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, and what a season it’s been! This year was especially unique, with several rare sightings that made each trip even more memorable. From observing a majestic blue whale to encountering long-finned pilot whales, a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, a smooth hammerhead, a swordfish, and a few pods of common dolphins—I had the privilege of witnessing so many once-in-a-lifetime species that I’ll never forget. Each day on the water, whether it was collecting data, educating and interacting with curious passengers, or simply marveling at the beauty of the Gulf of Maine’s marine life, was a rewarding experience. I’m grateful to have worked with such an amazing team of captains, crew, naturalists, and fellow interns, who made this experience even more special. Thank you to the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation for this unforgettable experience, and to my fellow interns for your energy, enthusiasm, and passion for marine conservation. Looking forward to the next chapter!! ????
