Democracy is essential to any small business owner who wants a strong economy that leads with innovation. That was the message I delivered on a panel moderated by Ainsley Harris this week at the Fast Company Innovation Festival on what’s at stake this election year. ? In fact, democracy is the single biggest engine of our prosperity. It has won the most real freedom in human history – economic, health, social and political freedoms. And when we ask which set of policies will advance the economy and small business growth, there is a big contrast between the Presidential candidates. ? On one hand we have Donald Trump, who is proposing to extend all of his 2017 tax giveaways to billionaires and foreign investors. Companies backed by foreign investors are already putting more money behind Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House in hopes they can keep their giveaways and get even more. And stick the rest of us with the tax bill. ? By contrast, Vice President Harris supports a tax policy that ensures more billionaires and foreign investors pay their fair share. Her running mate, Tim Walz, as governor of Minnesota, signed a groundbreaking law stopping foreign investors from participating in electioneering.? ? There is a lot at stake this November’s election. And?when it comes to which candidate will strengthen small businesses and prosperity for all Americans, the choice is clear. ? #FCFestival #FCIC10
