??? What do you know about the EU Mission: Restoring our oceans and waters? Project partners Hellenic Center for Marine Research and Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) participated in the ‘Forum Mondial de la Mer’, organised by ‘La Saison Bleue’ in collaboration with the Blue Mission Med project, last 12-13 September 2024 ?? One of the key points raised by the EC was the importance of improving existing communication channels and building new ones with regional and local territorial levels to achieve the implementation of the EU Mission ‘Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters’. ? BLUE ECOSYSTEM project will be essential to boost regional engagement through regional workshops and activities & ensure the amplification of the impacts of the EU Mission.?? ? ???? Spotlight on conservation: Did you know that an MPA (Marine Protected Area) is a designated region in oceans, seas, or large lakes where human activities are regulated to protect natural or cultural resources? ?? The goal of MPAs is to conserve marine biodiversity, ecosystems, and cultural heritage, ensuring that these areas remain healthy and resilient.

?? Tourism in the spotlight: ?? Tourism is one of the key challenges identified by the regional partners of the BLUE ECOSYSTEM project. Did you know that a new WestMED Technical Group on Sustainable Tourism has been officially approved? >>>>The overall objective is to serve as a forum to discuss trends and opportunities, provide support to participants to develop project ideas and form consortia focused on tourism-related topics identified at EU level, such as green transition, digitalization, promotion of social inclusion, governance, and skills<<<< ???? The official launch of the technical group will take place during the Sun&Blue Congress (20-22 November 2024, Almería, Spain)

?? PROJECT UPDATE ?? The BLUE ECOSYSTEM project partners have been working on one of the first key deliverables: The Blue Transformative Challenges Matrix. This matrix: 1?? compiles the challenges identified in the Balearic Islands, Emilia-Romagna, Région Sud-Occitanie, Zadar County, Alentejo, Attica, Albania, and Cyprus regions 2?? is aligned with the EU Restore our Ocean and Waters Mission. 3?? will initiate the multi-actor collaborations to codesign the blue Train labs methodology Stay tuned to see how you can be involved in your regional co-creation processes ????♂?
