The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership is a Horizon Europe co-funded partnership. It constitutes a network of 60 Partner institutions from 25 countries and the European Commission that enables an unprecedented effort to pool research and innovation investments and align national programmes at pan-European scale, taking into consideration the sea-basin (Mediterranean, Black Sea, Baltic and North Sea) and Atlantic Ocean dimension.

Silvia Tosatto (SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth EEIG) presented some findings from #Prep4BLUE on how interactions between the business and public sector can promote innovative business models ?? ?? Frode Dal Fjeldavli (Norges forskningsr?d) discussed how the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership seeks to support #startups and #SMEs in finding the sweet spot between #innovation and #research, to drive their #BlueBioTech success in Europe ???? ?? Magnus Hanstén from Nemo Seafarms helped us understand what drives large enterprises to partner with startups on restoration initiatives like #NordicBioBuz ??? ?? Julia E. Lange (Kiel University) introduced Blue Bioeconomy and startups like Vyld who are part of the #BaMSInnovationSpace ???? ?? C. Manago (ERINN Innovation) and Alexander Dernild (SDU RIO) introduced us to the newest #WaveLink addition, the Knowledge Transfer Online Showcasing Module, dedicated to supporting #KnowledgeTransfer for Mission Ocean success! ??

?? On 17 October 2024, the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership hosted the ‘Blue Economy for a Sustainable Black Sea’ workshop in Sofia, Bulgaria. ?? Stakeholders from across the Black Sea region came together to provide input to the Partnership about local needs, strengths, and priorities. The event took place back-to-back with the Mission Ocean event in Burgas and the BRIDGE Black Sea High-Tech Summit for the Black Sea, a research forum focused on ocean digitalisation and industry in the Black Sea region. #BlueEconomyEU

?? On 25-26 September 2024, the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership celebrated the launch of its first cohort of 19 funded projects with a two-day kick-off event in Madrid. ?? The meeting was hosted at Spain’s AGENCIA ESTATAL DE INVESTIGACIóN, and?brought together project coordinators, consortium partners, European Commission representatives, and other key stakeholders. The SEAFOODTURE project was presented at the SBEP (Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership) kick-off meeting, held at the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI) in Madrid on September 25th-26th, 2024.
