We're thrilled to announce that Blue Cord has officially launched Point Cloud Scanning as one of the many Professional Services we offer.
Recently, our team completed scanning for the Mammography Suite Renovation at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center, capturing detailed 3D data throughout the space. Our team was able to scan of all the rooms involved in our renovation, above ceiling, and the interstitial floor above. The data captured will be used to coordinate our design with existing conditions, which will limit potential clashes during construction. Once construction is complete, we’ll perform an as-built scan to document the space after our renovation.
What is Laser Scanning? For those new to the concept, laser scanning involves using Class 1 lasers to capture millions of data points, creating a precise 3D model of physical spaces or objects. This digital representation, called a “Point Cloud” provides invaluable insights for planning, design, and maintenance, and can be integrated into many 3D modeling programs such as Revit.
