I am looking forward to being a panelist on 24 Sep at Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM)‘s annual Congress called AHRMM24 in Columbus, Ohio. AHRMM is the American Hospital Association’s healthcare supply chain professional and trade organization which advances the imperatives of cost, quality and outcomes in the U.S. Healthcare system. Executive Director Michael Schiller will moderate a panel of leaders such as Stephen Downey, Rich Schlegel, Dave Sloniker and me to discuss the importance of Transformational Leadership in America’s Health Care Systems. I will also be speaking on 25 Sep with David Y. Today I had the opportunity to testify at the Senate Armed Services Committee on the DoD’s ability to provide safe and high quality pharmaceuticals for its Soldiers, families and retirees. I was able to advise a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators such as Senators Elizabeth Warren of MA, Tim Kaine of VA and Rick Scott of FL on specific actions to reduce our overreliance on pharmaceuticals, API and KSM from nations such as China. I’d like to thank my teammates at Securing America's Medicines and Supply and The Council on Strategic Risks for helping to prep me and our colleagues at Uniformed Services University and the Defense Logistics Agency for providing the transparency in data needed to tackle this dysfunctional market risk in the small molecule generic medicine space. Phoenix is ripe for growth and investment. Both TSMC and Intel are doubling down and growing their semi conductor business and manufacturing in town and there is definitely a buzz on more biotech and life sciences companies expanding. Finally, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will be in Phoenix on 29 February 2024 for their industry day.
