Here’s a frame from one of the animation projects we created at BluBlu Studios for The Academy a couple of years ago. Back then, I thought this was the closest I’d ever get to the Oscars - the event I’d stayed up late watching every year since I can remember. The one that sparked my passion for film and shaped my entire career. For a little boy from Poland who just loved movies, that proximity felt like more than enough. Then, one day, Liz Shaw brought us this amazing project from incredible filmmakers Brendan Bellomo & Aniela Sidorska - and everything changed. Now,?PORCELAIN WAR?is nominated for an Academy Award, and BluBlu’s delegates - Jacob, Gabriela, Liz, and yours truly - will be there to celebrate the film’s success, as well as the courage and resilience of its heroes. Our artists put that plastic Oscar statue in BluBlu Studios office a few years ago as a "playful source of inspiration." ?? Turns out… it wasn’t such a joke after all? It happened when The Academy reached out about animating Brad Pitt’s Oscar speech, and we half-jokingly thought, "Wow, we’re really close to the Oscars now." Then suddenly came two incredible projects—both with one ambitious goal. "The Mayfly" made the Oscar longlist. "The Porcelain War" got nominated. And now, in just two weeks, we’ll be in #Hollywood, standing on that iconic red carpet with Gabriela, Jed, Liz, Aniela Sidorska, Brendan Bellomo, Slava and an amazing international team behind #porcelainwar —celebrating how far we’ve all come. No matter the outcome, this is already a huge win. We’re heading there thanks to #PolishFilmInstitute, proudly representing Poland’s incredible animation industry and creators! ???? ??
