We're celebrating Women's History Month with a spotlight on some of our Blount County Chamber of Commerce women entrepreneurs! Andrea Pope and her husband own SERVPRO of Blount County, a cleaning, restoration, and construction company specializing in fire, water, and mold damage cleanup and restoration. Even though this industry is typically male-dominated, Andrea explains how women like her (and her daughter!) are making a difference in the business.

Mike King, Sales Associate with MARTIN PRINTING, LLC and Blount Chamber Ambassador, has been giving back to his community (and his country!) from the start. He majored in Graphic arts at East Tennessee State University, and after leaving college joined the Marine Corp to serve in Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Marines he went to work For Mutual Business Forms as an apprentice press operator and worked his way to General Manager. When the business sold to a larger company, Mike went into sales and worked for different companies until he had the opportunity to join Martin Printing Co. When he's not busy serving the business community in Blount County, Mike also serves in another job, his ministry called Light Your World Ministries. They take teams to do missions work in Romania with the Romani people. They've been making mission trips since 9/11 2001. Thanks Mike for all you do!

We are fortunate to have the most incredible partners on all of our initiatives – especially this one! StandardAero, in partnership with Breeze Airways?, donated a jet turbine engine to benefit the Regional Aviation Maintenance Technician program that is being built in Blount County. StandardAero also donated dozens of tools to assist in the initiative. This Pellissippi State Community College program, which is pending FAA and SACS certification, will train future aviation mechanics for job with our area aviation employers. The Blount Partnership and PSCC are grateful for their many aviation industry partners who are helping make this school a reality.
