DiAnne Wilson’s creative skills have elevated our fundraisers and office space to a new level. We love having her helpful and joyful spirit with us at the golf tournament as well as all the many other activities she helps us with. Randy Schonagen is the owner of Maryville Bike and Trail. He donated four great new bikes to the top winners and volunteered his time with food duties at the golf tournament. Thank you both!!

Thank you Lt. Sam Hall with Blount County Sheriff's Office for being someone we can always count on to help, no matter what the task is. Whether it’s putting hole signs in the ground or cutting rope to get some signs up, Sam always willingly pitches in. We’re grateful to have him as part of the Habitat family.

Thank you Kasi Lawson with Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union for helping us plan our golf tournament this year! She even brought in a small squad of her coworkers to assist on the actual day.

Here’s a special shout out to Angela Tillman who not only volunteers in our golf tournament, she pitches in whenever we need any help year round. In this year’s golf tournament, she helped us gather and craft our prize packages. You also saw her sweet face at the registration table greeting golfers as they came in. Thank you Angela for being someone who makes a difference in our community!

If you’ve built with us, you likely met Roxie, our Habitat dog. Last week, Roxie passed away. She was a constant companion to our Construction Director Doug Jenkins. Doug rescued her after finding Roxie tied to a tree near a Habitat home being built. It’s hard to think of the build site without Roxie there, but we’re also thankful for some great memories. We’ll miss you Roxie, RIP.

Thank you to Jennifer Wilson with Blount Partnership for taking on the incredible responsibility of organizing volunteers on the day of our golf tournament. She’s also a spreadsheet guru and helps us out with those skills as well. The event would not be the same without her time spent giving back.

Asheville is among the many communities across the U.S. Southeast still picking up the pieces in the wake of two massive, deadly hurricanes. Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity continues to conduct outreach to homeowners and volunteers to assess the damage to their homes and their lives. Habitat’s role in the long-term recovery of the impacted communities across 6 states is crucial as thousands of people have been displaced from their homes.
