Yesterday, we were honored to host the Society of American Military Engineers (S.A.M.E.) U.S. Army Fort Leonard Wood Chapter for a site tour of Liberty Elementary School. Working closely with the Waynesville R-VI School District, Bloomsdale Excavating proudly demonstrated our commitment to excellence and showed exactly what #settingthebar means to us. The Brandon Road Interbasin Project is a critical initiative designed to prevent the migration of invasive Asian Carp into Lake Michigan, protecting the Great Lakes ecosystem. Bloomsdale Excavating is proud to support this effort alongside Miami Marine Services, LLC and Michels Construction by providing rock hauling and placement services during the project's first phase. Currently, the Michels team is executing complex bedrock removal at the bottom of the Brandon Road Lock & Dam, creating a deeper channel to facilitate the installation of advanced fish deterrent systems. With extensive experience in projects of similar scope, Bloomsdale brings proven expertise in heavy civil construction and environmental mitigation to this critical infrastructure effort. As the project progresses through multiple phases, the Brandon Road Interbasin Project is set to represent a $1 billion investment in safeguarding Illinois' waterways and strengthening the region’s environmental resilience. Stripping down to the essentials—preparing this quarry for what’s to come! Our crew in Michigan has been taking on a large quarry stripping project, where precision and teamwork are key. So far, this hardworking group has stripped over 443,500 cubic yards of material. That’s enough to fill more than 135 Olympic-sized swimming pools! Stripping overburden isn’t just about moving dirt; it’s about creating a clean slate for future quarry operations to run efficiently. It requires heavy machinery, skilled operators, and careful planning to keep everything on track while maintaining safety and speed. As we approach 2025 the winds of change are in the air. In the spirit of succession planning, here are some changes for the coming year.

Winter Project Spotlight: Twin Pines Estates This week, we're spotlighting one of our exciting residential development projects in Jefferson County, MO! Our crews have already cleared 45 acres of land and are progressing greatly with the excavation portion. By the time this project wraps up, the team will have moved over 130,000 cubic yards of material and installed an impressive 44,500 feet of storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water mains combined. We’re proud of the work our team is putting in and can’t wait to see this development take shape! #TeamBE #settingthebar

We've got a busy winter ahead of us, so let's start by highlighting one of our larger projects that's currently ongoing. The Harlow Island Restoration Project: This project is located in Jefferson County, MO where Bloomsdale is working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Louis District, and has been tasked with rerouting river water flow by constructing new & improved sediment berms and swale channel crossings. This will be an exciting project for us as we continue to push through each phase throughout the winter. At the moment, we are busy clearing 180 acres of this site to get to our cut areas. After clearing, we will bring in our KTEC scrapers to move roughly 530,000 Cubic Yards of dirt and use it for fill areas, the sediment berms, the new swale channel crossings, and the improvement of the wildlife habitat. #TeamBE #settingthebar
