The City welcomed a delegation from the Japan Local Government Center to Bloomington this week. During their three-day visit, delegates learned about how the City works and took a tour of the South Loop, the Japanese Garden at Normandale Community College, Bloomington Center for the Arts and the Old Cedar Avenue bridge. ? In a proclamation declaring November 18 Japanese Local Government Professionals Day in Bloomington, Mayor Tim Busse said: “We extend our warmest welcome to the Japanese delegation and express our deep appreciation for the opportunity to learn from one another. Through this visit, we aim to enhance mutual understanding, promote cultural exchange and continue building stronger ties between our communities.”
