Happy National Family Engagement Day!
I partner with organizations in the education ecosystem to advance disruptive innovation and create transformational systems designed for all.
Happy National Family Engagement Day! Today, we celebrate and honor the crucial role families play in their children’s education. Research consistently highlights the vital importance of school-family partnerships in driving student achievement and school improvement. In October, I had the privilege of presenting at the NAFSCE (National Association for Family, School, and Community Engagement), sharing insights on how family feedback can be leveraged for school improvement. On a personal note, I also contribute as president of the PTSO at my child’s school, where I witness firsthand the power of family engagement. As our K-12 education is likely to move towards more choice-based models in the months and years ahead, schools must prioritize family partnerships more than ever. Recognizing this, BloomED Group recently expanded its services to include a new marketing practice led by Dionne Kumpe. This initiative is designed to support education, community, and service-based organizations in better connecting with families and other key stakeholders to grow their impact. Our offerings include 1:1 advisory sessions, workshops, and a variety of brand, messaging, and marketing projects. Using Dionne’s certifications in StoryBrand and Unreasonable Hospitality and the almost five years I spent consulting organizations around family engagement, we help clients craft impactful communication strategies to engage families and inspire action. We also apply learnings from Dionne’s thirty years in the advertising industry and my thirty years in the education ecosystem, where I worked for the Lt. Governor of the State of Maryland, Baltimore City Public Schools, and Urban Teachers (now City Teaching Alliance).
