Our key partner ChemTech/chemistry department of College of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR) celebrated it's 50 years! ? Bloom Biorenewables had the pleasure of attending the 50 year celebration of the chemistry department at the HEIA-FR. Our CIO Philip Scholten presented among an impressive array of speakers and lots of history rounded by an excellent networking event. ? What started as a bachelor thesis (Mylène Soudani, Roger Marti) laid the foundation for our recent industrialisation to the ton scale. The chemistry department at the HEIA has proven that it is the stepping stone for #deepTech and #climateTech start-ups looking to develop and scale their process. We look forward to the next 50 years and the continuation of our fruitful partnership. ? Fribourg Development Agency FDA @cantonfribourg #chemistry #scaling #deeptech #climatetech

?? Bloom Biorenewables at the Marcus Wallenberg Symposium 2024! ?? We are thrilled to share that Bloom had a significant presence at the prestigious The Marcus Wallenberg Prize (MWP) Symposium, where the 2024 Prize often referred to as the Nobel Prize in the field of wood and forestry, was awarded to Professors John Ralph and Wout Boerjan for their groundbreaking research on lignin biosynthesis and structural diversity. Our co-CEO, Remy Buser, had the honor of presenting Bloom's achievements at this prestigious event. It was an incredible experience to witness His Majesty the King of Sweden present the award, and to have the chance to speak with many relevant stakeholder and Marcus Wallenberg himself. The discussions highlighted the importance of lignin in advancing scientific and industrial applications. Seeing lignin at the center of such a renowned prize is truly inspiring for the future of sustainable materials. Congratulations to the winners, Young Researchers and all involved! Is our vision to make Earth a better place to live compatible with providing value to our shareholders? Can our company be sufficient when scaling hardware projects requires significant investments? How can we shape our business so that we do not make sustainability to scale profit but rather make profit to scale sustainability? Bloom Biorenewables strives to make the right things (sufficiency) and to make them right (sustainability)! These are few (out of many) topics discussed at the Showcase2030 roundtable.?Thank you for the invitation E4S Alessandra Rojas Jean-Philippe Bonardi Dr. Florian Hoos and congrats for this inspiring day with talented speakers Yamina Saheb André Hoffmann Guido Palazzo Maxime Blondeau Julia Binder Corentin Fivet Anja Christina Siffert and all. What’s the point of French-speaking Switzerland? This was the theme of 2024 Forum des 100 by Le Temps. Not sure that we are more advanced on that question, but the day was for sure insightful with an impressive line-up including members of the federal council, trade unionists, multinational CEOs and a touch of Swiss humorist. At least we know that French-speaking Switzerland is very diverse! ? Bloom Biorenewables is honored to appear in the list for 2024! Thanks Le Temps for the nomination. ? Welcome to Sarah Mion who recently joined Bloom as an intern in the innovation team?! Originally from France, she is currently pursuing a master in chemistry where she is specialising in sustainable process chemistry. Her internship is part of her gap year in which she will delve into the valorisation of biopolymers, develop and apply her knowledge in green chemistry, all while discovering a new country Sarah enjoys sport, like fitness or volleyball, but also hiking, biking, or skiing in the mountains. She also takes great pleasure in spending time with family and friends, especially playing board games.

At Bloom, we’re committed to making a positive impact in the world—and today, we’re proud to support a meaningful initiative from one of our own! ? Lucas, our talented lab technician, co-founded Mouvement Global, a charity association aimed at promoting sports and community support. Together with two of his best friends, Lucas Mayoraz created this organization to combine their passion for running with a mission to help those in need. Their first fundraising effort supported the Manafiako Association, raising funds to build a self-sustaining school in Kenya. ? Now, Lucas is running the @Lausanne Marathon to raise awareness and funds for STOP SUICIDE, an organization dedicated to mental health advocacy and suicide prevention. ? We invite you to support this incredible cause by donating via Twint or GoFundMe. Visit Mouvement Global's page for more information on how you can contribute. ? Congratulations, Lucas, on this inspiring initiative, and best of luck with the upcoming fundraiser!

With the convention coming to an end, we would like to express our gratitude to the Swiss Climate Foundation for their invaluable support, which has been instrumental in our early commercial success at Bloom Biorenewables. ? 1. Support for production campaigns to deliver large samples of high-quality lignin from wood using our proprietary fractionation process. 2. Support for the acquisition of a new reactor to convert Bloom’s lignin to high performance aromatics. 3. As even best products do not sell alone, our customers acquisition has been accelerated thanks to the Foundation. ? Again, we are grateful to the Foundation and highly encourage entrepreneurs to apply for funding. https://lnkd.in/dNgmrix2
