Join us in congratulating Harry Drake on his well-earned and long-awaited retirement! Harry has been with BRES since 1999, serving as Executive Vice President/COO, a Principal in Block Funds, and a member of the Executive Committee. With over 39 years of expertise in property operations, management, and ownership, he played a key role in shaping our firm's success. He led a team of 20+ directors and managers, overseeing asset and property management across Kansas City, St. Louis, Atlanta, and Phoenix. What started as a short-term role in 1999 turned into a remarkable 26-year career. Among his many achievements, Harry helped expand our portfolio with major clients, launched Block Maintenance and Block Construction, transitioned the annual market report in-house, established the St. Louis office and multifamily group, and played a key role in the firm’s evolution into BRES. His leadership helped make BRES a powerhouse in KC and the Midwest. Beyond corporate contributions, Harry led BRES’s distressed asset services, served as a court-appointed receiver for over one million square feet of commercial properties, and advised on lease negotiations and acquisitions. A graduate of Michigan State University, he is a licensed real estate broker in Missouri and Kansas. His career includes leadership roles at MC Real Estate Services, Jones & Company, and Trizec Properties. In 2012, Harry was inducted into the Midwest Real Estate News Hall of Fame. He has also been deeply involved in community service, including leadership roles with the Missouri Yacht Club, Overland Park South Rotary, and the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce’s leadership program.
