It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gene R. Moffitt. Gene passed peacefully on October 10th, surrounded by his family. Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela; son John and daughter-in-law Kim; son Michael and daughter-in-law Julie; and his four grandchildren, Patrick, Cora, Paul, and Grant. Gene was an innovator in the industry and contributed to numerous local commercial projects. He originated the first new lifestyle center, “Zona Rosa,” a mixed-use retail, office, and industrial center in the Greater Kansas City area. He was instrumental in relocating St. Joseph Hospital and revitalizing the remaining site, creating Linwood Shopping Center. Swope Parkway Health Center selected him as a Development Consultant to provide professional services for the Blue Parkway Town Center redevelopment project. Gene also coordinated and secured Community Builders, H&R Block’s “High-Tech” Call Center, to serve H&R Block’s Communications Center for its base of more than 9,000 international satellite offices. He began his career with Block & Company in 1968 as a Sales Associate. Over his 44 years with the firm, he worked alongside his wife Pamela, son Michael, and son John Moffitt, who currently serves as Director of Marketing. Gene, former Senior Vice President and former member of the Board of Directors, was a beloved member of the Block & Company, Inc., Realtors family. He will be missed. A celebration of life is tentatively planned for early December.

✨Meet Simone! ✨ Simone Kimmel joined Block & Company, Inc., Realtors, as a Brokerage Administrative Assistant in June 2021. Simone supports 11-13 brokers in her role by drafting leases, commission bills, contracts, and more. (She's one of the ones who keeps everything running smoothly!) Simone's favorite parts about her job are interacting with the agents, working alongside colleague Kayla Smith, and loving on Mark McConahay's dog, Gigi, when she comes into the office. 🐶 Something you might not know about her is that she is a huge documentary and history enthusiast. She has a collection of almost 50 documentaries at home! She also loves watching old wrestling and football and hanging out with her family and dogs at home. Simone is a joy to have in the office, and we are so grateful for everything she does. 🤩 P.S. It's her birthday on Sunday! Wish her a happy early birthday in the comments below ⬇️⬇️
