We are always excited to hear the "dreaming" of our Founder. Take a listen.
Last week, I had the pleasure of delivering the opening keynote address at?Data for Black Lives,?founded by?Yeshimabeit Milner. The title of my speech was "Our?Coverings (e.g., Churches, Mosques, HBCUs, etc.) Matter to Building a Liberated Black Digital & AI Futures." Our historic institutions are the missing thought partner in this AI conversation. At #BlackTechFutures Research Institute, we believe these historic institutions deserve our investment and respect. Like Black women, these "cornerstone" institutions built our Democracy in the US and will be the same institutions that will save it "again."?It was a joy to hear 300-plus people sing "This Little Light of Mine" at my impromptu urging because the conference was "rich with joy and hope," and we needed to cement the joy with collective singing . . . anyone who got that video, please share. It was a blessing to hug Ruha Benjamin Rev. Dr. Heber Brown, III, Renée Cummings and hear their joyful dreams for us in tech and the soil.
