In Trenton, New Jersey, a group of dedicated organizations is working to ensure there are no empty tables during the Thanksgiving holiday. Alejandro Escamilla with Iglesia de Fuente De Vida, Wilmer Luna with North Bridge Foundation, Omar Aikens with Operation Capital City, and Kimberly McRae with Ashante's Love and Men & Women of Character are coming together to make a real impact. Despite serving different audiences, they exemplify what’s possible when organizations collaborate to make a difference. Last November, these groups joined forces to feed 1,000 people and aim to serve even more this year. Meanwhile, here at Blessings of Hope, the holiday season is one of our busiest times. The need grows, and so does our commitment to meet it. This year, we’re planning to pack 4,500 to 5,000 Hands of Hope boxes consisting of a nice assortment of fresh and shelf-stable prepackaged foods. ‘Tis the Season for Generosity! The Families in Transition program at the School District of Lancaster is dedicated to breaking down barriers for children facing homelessness or housing instability, helping them not only stay in school but thrive. Over the past year, they’ve served approximately 900 individuals. Their support extends beyond the classroom, providing essentials like hygiene products, cleaning supplies, bus passes, backpacks, school supplies, sneakers, and clothing. They also assist with school enrollment, offer referrals for food, shelter, and healthcare, and arrange transportation for families in need. They even team up with local organizations to deliver hot meals during the holidays, spreading hope and warmth to those in need.
