KMA Design Studio Thanks for having us on the team!
Christiana Village in Wilmington, DE, consists of four scattered affordable apartment sites and 76 units. The units range in size from 1-3 bedrooms. KMA provided layout provisions to different unit types to create accessibility. We also re-configured the management offices and laundry rooms to be accessible. The building exterior was renovated with new energy star rated windows, roofing, and facade finishes.?Building systems were upgraded to all-electric systems.?All buildings are protected with new automatic sprinkler systems. Each unit received enhancements such as new kitchen cabinets and bathroom fixtures. Units have new life and feel clean and sleek. We hope these apartments are safe havens for those who inhabit them. KMA attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Allegheny West Plaza on Friday, July 26, 2024. Allegheny West Plaza is a four-story mixed-use LIHTC affordable senior housing development located in Philadelphia, PA. This new complex offers 45 apartments to low-income seniors. The first floor was designated for commercial space, housing a daycare center and a career training organization. AWF Plaza has the potential to bring about positive changes in the Allegheny West neighborhood by enhancing the lives and amenities available to its residents. The project is Reduced-HERS certified and designed to meet the 2020 Enterprise Green Communities? Criteria and EPA’s Energy Star Multi-Family New Construction program requirements. KMA is proud to have contributed to this project. The complex is not only beautiful but also constructed to sustainable design specifications.
