Not to be confused with BlackRock! ??
Chairman, CEO & Co-Founder of Blackstone, New York Times Bestselling Author of What It Takes, Philanthropist
Some added humor that didn't make the Barron's piece... I recall talking with Larry Fink about a new name for his business as it was spinning out of Blackstone in 1994. He had the idea of keeping the common "black" connection and suggested BlackRock or Black Pebble. Hindsight is 20/20, but I'd say "rock" (and "stone" for that matter) are a bit more fitting of the scale both firms have achieved in the decades since.
