The one thing that stands out to me is the fact that we have the opportunity to not only contribute to the state, to contribute to our nation, but to contribute to the school kids of Minnesota. These guys most definitely bring the heat. I sat down with Ted Angelo and Jeff Pederson of ME ELECMETAL and got a chance to tour their facility. I got an up close look at the work that their people do. Some of the statements that come from the leadership truly revealed why they have some of the most tremendous safety records. It’s evident in a business that can be dirty and dangerous that they are clean and safe. These guys talk about the people in a way that shows that they care about them. These are the types of leaders that you want to work with, that you wanna follow. In this conversation they drop some knowledge about how they’ve gotten where they are and how they’re trying to help others get there as well. It’s a lesson in leadership. I had a great time recording a podcast last month with Jon Cherry from Perpetua Resources and Joshua D. Mellott from Blackline LTD out of Pennsylvania to discuss Stibnite, Antimony, Permitting, and Better In Our Back Yard ahead of the winter dinner. Just weeks before a change of leadership at the White House, the Biden administration issued the final Record of Decision approving Perpetua Resources’ Stibnite Gold Project in Idaho which represents a major step forward for national security and resource independence. It was exciting to see Jon’s leadership at PolyMet when NorthMet became the first Non-Ferrous mine in Minnesota be fully permitted, and it’s great to watch him now guiding the team at Perpetua from afar as Stibnite nears construction in Idaho - which should be great momentum builder for other proposed projects navigating federal permitting across the country. Thank you to Mckinsey Miller Lyon for helping set this up and for making the trip to Minnesota from Idaho and thank you to Josh and his team for the excellent work.

I think hard work and grit are the great equalizer. We all have the ability to go from a digging a shovel into the ground to CEO, if that’s what we want. How hard you’re willing to work and how much grit you are willing to display day in a day out, wiIl determine the outcome of what you face. This past week I had someone reach out to me and ask if I could recommend any business coaches that weren’t what this quote describes. The interesting thing is, in business you have to be able to do both well. This next podcast is about someone who is just that. Wally Adamchik CMC, CSP, MBA of FireStarter Speaking and Consulting and I sat down and discussed what consulting, what coaching, is. He talks about investment in people- and he has been building a business for over 20 years- so his words do not come lightly. The other thing that I would add is something that I say all the time about leadership. You can’t be a leader unless people follow you. Wally has a group of people that most definitely follow him.
