关于我们

Black Economic Alliance is a Black-led political coalition that aims to drive economic progress and prosperity in the Black community with a specific focus on work, wages, and wealth. We are business and civic leaders who are using our collective power and business acumen to advance policies that can and will create economic empowerment in our community. We are driving change through an advocacy organization and political action committees that support candidates for office. We will work to ensure that politicians who receive support from the Black community—whether through votes or funds—represent the interests of our community, so that we can collectively create a future for Black Americans that ensures prosperity and economic security for generations to come

BEA Statement on Election Results, Path Forward ? “Last week, millions of Americans went to the polls, engaged in the democratic process, and made their voices heard. With the news about the House of Representatives, the outcomes of the 2024 federal election are now known.?? ? “We are proud of the ten candidates endorsed by the BEA PAC who won with a focus on work, wages, and wealth for Black Americans - including the first two concurrently serving Black women in the history of the United States Senate - and of Vice President Harris’ historic run, which prioritized an economic opportunity agenda for Black Americans and all Americans. ? “BEA remains unwaveringly committed to working across the public, private, and philanthropic sectors to ensure Black economic opportunity and, in so doing, grow the entire American economy. Our work, wages, and wealth agenda has never been more important than at this critical time in our nation’s history.”

In a significant show of force for the Harris campaign, BEA PAC engaged over 50 leading Black business leaders to sign a letter endorsing her economic agenda. The endorsement letter was prominently featured in the New York Times and DealBook, as well as local outlets and news sources frequented by Black voters. As the letter states, “Vice President Harris’ Opportunity Economy agenda would give Americans the tools to build generational wealth by making housing more affordable, creating good-paying jobs, and investing in the entrepreneurial spirit that fuels our economy.” Vice President Harris is the best choice for our economic prosperity, business, and the American economy. It's up to us to ensure we make our voices heard on Nov. 5th. Full letter here: https://lnkd.in/eK9UdJW6

BEA PAC has been busy working on multiple fronts to support Vice President Harris’ campaign and propel Hakeem Jeffries to Speaker of the House by targeting Black voters, emphasizing how voting is essential to breaking down barriers to economic opportunity and building generational wealth. On Monday, 6K+ listeners joined BEA’s? “What Do Black Men Want?” town hall, moderated by Roland Martin. The conclusion: only one Presidential candidate is listening to us and plans to build a more prosperous economic future, and that’s Kamala Harris. ForbesBLK also highlighted BEA’s work with VPHarris on her nationwide Economic Opportunity Tour in an interview with CEO Samantha Tweedy. BEA Co-Chair Charles Phillips appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box, where he made the business case for Vice President Harris and discussed how her plan could transform economic outcomes for all Americans. Over 6,000 participants tuned into the Black Economic Alliance’s virtual town hall “What Do Black Men Want? Wealth, Wellness, and the 2024 Election” this week. Moderated by Roland Martin, we talked about how Black men can access the tools and opportunity to build generational wealth for themselves and their families – and how they have the power to decide the 2024 election. Please share this video with your networks to help inspire more Black men across the country to make their voices heard. From affordable housing to investing in small businesses, to access to high-quality, high-paying jobs, Black businessmen discussed the importance of voting for progress on the issues that matter to Black men, and how it will foster prosperity and wellness for their families and communities. We’re grateful to have shared a space with D. L. Hughley, who discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’ leadership and commitment, saying, “When have you ever seen a leader ask what you want, and within 120 days have a plan… This is our plan, this is what we said we want… When someone gives you access to the things you want, you have an obligation to show up.” The choice could not be clearer this election, and Kenneth I. Chenault said it best, “there is a tremendous gap between Trump and Vice President Harris… I know Donald Trump, and I can tell you that he is not someone who understands and in fact is committed to Black entrepreneurship and opening up real opportunities for Black people.” Building a more prosperous economic future requires us to raise our voices this election cycle. Early voting is underway—visit our voter page to confirm your registration, preview your ballot, and make your voice heard. Watch the full town hall here: https://lnkd.in/eH6P7BYs
