Resume Writing Coach | Job Search Strategist | Interview Consultant | Former Recruiter | LinkedIn Top Voice ★ Positioning emerging leaders for 6-figure salaries at Fortune 500 brands.
10 things you can be thankful for this holiday season even if it’s not a job offer. ?? The internet/WiFi for your job search. ?? The fact that you’re landing interviews. ?? A bridge role holding you over for better. ?? Your value remains despite your job status. ?? You have a tribe sending you qualified leads. ?? The rejection that helped you dodge a bullet. ?? Continuing on when things “weren’t working.” ?? Being hopeful when others secure job offers. ?? Trusting your new boss won’t be such a jerk. ?? Learning and growing from your mistakes. It may not seem like this cycle of fear, excitement, and disappointment will ever end, but you have to dig deep and believe that your time is coming. Your right-fit role is out there. It’s true that you become what you consume. Purge your feed of the negativity—seeing it has made you accept others’ journeys as your truth. Have the same faith in your success that you have in air. You can’t see it, but you still trust that it’ll be there to give you exactly what you need. Drop a comment and tell others why you’re thankful.

MEET Eniola Shokunbi, a 12-year old who has secured $11.5M in funding for her air filter invention. ? At just 5th grade, she helped design an air filter system that removes 99% of viruses from classrooms. As reported in Because of Them We Can: "Eniola Shokunbi?was in the fifth grade at Commodore MacDonough?STEMAcademy in Middletown,?Connecticut, when her teacher tasked the class with creating a solution to future pandemic issues that might arise in schools,?Shoppe Black?reports. Drawn to the need for better air quality due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Eniola set her sights on developing an air filter system. Utilizing a low-cost combination of furnace filters, a box fan, duct tape, and cardboard, Eniola was able to prototype her design for just $60 per unit, making it the most cost-effective alternative to commercial air purifiers." Now, she's working to bring this life-saving tech to schools across the U.S. ? Read more https://lnkd.in/g7mnJbmx #invention #innovation #air #girlsinstem #steministupdates

Healthcare DEI | Health Equity | Organizational Transformation & Strategy | Leadership Development | Public Speaker | Fostering Inclusive Cultures and Enhancing Employee Engagement
Code-switching—constantly altering behavior, speech, or appearance to conform to dominant cultural norms—is a reality many Black women face daily. In her work Dr.DeLisha Tapscott, Ed.D refers to this as “negotiating identities” which really resonates with me. Dr. Raquel Martin, PhD recommends using the term “masking” when attempting to describe this way of being to clinicians. Whatever you choose to call it, while often viewed as a professional necessity, being forced to continuously behave in this way comes at a high cost, including mental exhaustion, chronic stress, and physical health challenges. This Essence article emphasizes the power of self-care and building supportive communities as essential tools for healing from the harm caused from having to negotiate how we can safely show up in the workplace day in and day out . These solutions are central to my upcoming retreat, “A Time to Heal: For Black Women Healthcare Leaders Who Have Considered Prioritizing Their Own Healing / When Resilience Is No Longer Enough.” This will be an intimate retreat for Black women healthcare leaders in the Chicago area held on MLK weekend. This retreat is about reclaiming our time AND space for restoration—laying down the masks, connecting with sisters who understand our journeys, and equipping ourselves with tools necessary for ongoing healing. What the Retreat Offers: Healing Sessions: Expert-led workshops to explore strategies for self-care, reducing stress, and navigating workplace challenges authentically. Connection & Community: A supportive, psychologically safe space to share experiences and build meaningful relationships with like-minded Black women leaders. Rest & Reflection: Dedicated time to relax, recharge, and reconnect with yourself. Why This Matters: I don’t feel I should have to spell this out but….. When Black women leaders are allowed time and space to prioritize their healing, they lead from a place of abundance—and that healing overflows, driving transformative change throughout their workplaces and communities. How you can help; ??Donate: Help make this retreat free of charge for attendees by supporting accommodations, meals, and resources. ??Share: Spread the word to your network to ensure more people learn about this initiative. ??Sponsor a Session: Collaborate with us to sponsor an expert-led session or resources for attendees. Helping mission-driven leaders maximize their impact through strategic planning and project management consulting
? At STB Consulting, LLC Consulting LLC, I work with leaders dedicated to creating positive change, helping them maximize their impact through strategic planning and project management consulting. This journey has connected me with incredible organizations across sectors like education, public health, youth development, animal welfare, legal advocacy, and more. As an engineer-turned-consultant passionate about STEM, I’ve made it a goal this year to deepen my understanding of the amazing work happening in the STEM space. ? For the rest of this month I will continue to feature impactful STEM organizations I’ve discovered this year. Let’s celebrate their work—and consider supporting them this season! (#GivingTuesday is Dec 3, FYI) ? Today I’m excited to feature Black Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE). I had the pleasure of meeting BWISE Founder and President Erika Jefferson earlier this year. As a fellow Chemical Engineer and Georgia Tech alum (Go Jackets!), I was surprised we had not connected before. Erika founded BWISE in 2015 with the purpose to support underrepresented women in bridging the leadership gap through networking, mentorship and career development. ??????????: ? provides opportunities to connect with others and expand your professional networks.? ? has created a platform and space to share career experiences and best practices. ? provides professional development and training focused on career advancement. I had the pleasure of speaking to the BWISE community in August of this year and look forward to continuing to support and partner with them moving forward. ?? You can learn more about BWISE on their LinkedIn page or via their website (see link in the comments). Today's organization spotlight: Black Women in Science and Engineering (BWISE) ??????????’?? ??????????????: The?BWISE?mission?is to empower Black Women through career and entrepreneurial development, insight and training. While the?BWISE?vision is to significantly impact the diversity of the STEM pipeline, both corporate and academic, from beginning to end.
