What the future for us looks like - driving innovative ideas in the emerging technologies that will provide economic mobility for all Americans while assuring we are mitigating and being resilient to the disasters that plague our nation. Thanks to the Ares Charitable Foundation lead by Michelle Armstrong, we have awarded $4.5M to 6 different regions across the United States from Oregon, Colorado, Tennessee, New York, Louisiana and North Carolina to train and place 25,000 Americans in jobs that will drive our nation’s energy agenda in a science backed and fiscally responsible way. Now to my corporate VC and later stage venture community - these regions are preparing the supply side of talent for shovel ready and investment ready opportunities that will ensure every community in these regions will have the full potential to achieve. We all are excited to work together. Congratulations to our Jobs for the Future (JFF) team for all of their work, especially Sara Vander Zanden Julia Delgado Lucy Fernandez. I’m excited to continue this journey. In fifth grade, #EniolaShokunbi led the efforts to create an air filter system that’s able to remove cold and COVID viruses from classrooms. “The air goes through all the sides,” she said. “And it comes out of the top, so it filters in and out.” Last Tuesday, Shokunbi proudly stood in her classroom when she learned her project was unanimously approved $11.5 million for the construction and installation of the air filter system for other schools in Connecticut. The funding will go to UConn as part of the school’s Supplemental Air Filtration for Education Program. “A lot of people, they don’t realize sometimes, that they only thing standing between them and getting sick is science,” Shokunbi said. “If we’re not investing in that, then we’re not investing the kids’ future.” Her goal is to get air filters into schoolchildren across America. “I want them to go to school knowing that they’re safe, that they’re health, that they can learn,” Shokunbi said. “I really love explaining to people and seeing their faces, seeing them realize that this could change so many lives.” Great job, Eniola!

???? Some of you asked: *"How did we power an electric car with Sargassum seaweed?"* Well, here’s the scoop: we took Sargassum seaweed and wastewater from rum distilleries to create biomethane (basically natural gas). We stored that biomethane in a propane tank and used it to fuel a dual-fuel generator, which slow-charged our EV. Pretty cool, right? ???? But that’s not all! We also showed off Kirstin's upgraded Suzuki Jimny, which is set to run on our renewable natural gas (RNG) during the 4-car pilot – making the switch from petrol to renewable energy. ??? Big things are coming for clean, sustainable transport! Stay tuned! #Sargassum #Biogas #Rum #SustainableEnergy #EVCharging #GreenTech #CleanDriving #InnovationInAction
