At Black Sisters in STEM, we are driven by a story of sacrifice, resilience, and vision. Our CEO, Nyamekye (Yah-MEH-chay) Wilson's journey began with her mother’s bold decision to immigrate from Ghana, West Africa, at the age of 19. Our CEO witnessed the challenges faced by women like her who is ambitious, intelligent, yet often limited by the lack of opportunities in STEM fields. As one of the only #blackwomen in her finance class, she realized that if more women like her were going to succeed in STEM, they needed the right resources, mentors, and support.
