As a New Yorker, I love my bagels. ?? And as a New Yorker, I have VERY strong opinions about who has the BEST bagels (feel free to fight me in the comments.)
This past weekend, I went to my fave neighborhood bagel spot Black Seed Bagels - a beloved local chain. I walked home with a huge smile and a free bag of yesterday's bagels. ??
???? I love them because yes, their bagels are delicious - but more importantly, their staff treat me better than any bagel shop in NYC. Their CX is golden!
What makes their bagels so damn good? They were co-founded in 2014 by The James Beard Foundation-nominated chef and brilliant baker?Dianna Daoheung. They offer New York-style?bagels, boiled in honey water, and baked in a wood-fired oven (a nod to Montreal-style bagels!)
?? BUT WHAT MAKES THEM THE BEST!? Heartwarming #CustomerExperience
New York customer service is famously terrible, mean, and transactional.
I'm always in awe that the staff at my local Black Seed Bagels are earnestly friendly, smiling, and having a good time. They happily make time to have a chit-chat with me, no longer how long the line is. On countless occasions, they comp my bagel order or throw me a free bag of Yesterday's Bagels.
