It is an independent, non-profit organization that is locally controlled. Its service area encompasses all of Jackson County with a population of over 20,000. Area residents are fortunate to enjoy a small-town lifestyle with ready access to a full range of quality health services. Exciting announcement! Black River Health - A Merger of Equals We are thrilled to announce Krohn Clinic and Black River Memorial Hospital are merging, effective December 30, 2024. This milestone marks a commitment to provide local, high-quality and comprehensive healthcare to Jackson County and surrounding areas. A key focus of the partnership is maintaining the independence of each organization while working as a unified entity. Black River Health leadership will be shared between Dr. Michelle Clark-Forsting, who will become the Chief Physician Executive, and Mr. Carl Selvick, who will serve as Chief Executive Officer. Local decision-making will remain at the forefront, ensuring that community needs will guide Black River Health services.
