Black River Health is an accredited Critical Access Hospital and Clinic located in West Central Wisconsin, in the city of Black River Falls. It is an independent, non-profit organization that is locally controlled. Its service area encompasses all of Jackson County with a population of over 20,000. Area residents are fortunate to enjoy a small-town lifestyle with ready access to a full range of quality health services. Black River Health has consistently been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare since 2011.

    Exciting announcement! Black River Health - A Merger of Equals We are thrilled to announce Krohn Clinic and Black River Memorial Hospital are merging, effective December 30, 2024. This milestone marks a commitment to provide local, high-quality and comprehensive healthcare to Jackson County and surrounding areas. A key focus of the partnership is maintaining the independence of each organization while working as a unified entity. Black River Health leadership will be shared between Dr. Michelle Clark-Forsting, who will become the Chief Physician Executive, and Mr. Carl Selvick, who will serve as Chief Executive Officer. Local decision-making will remain at the forefront, ensuring that community needs will guide Black River Health services.
