Day One of PERICON Everywhere Day 1: Recap & Gratitude ? Wow, what an incredible start to PERICON Everywhere! ? A huge thank you to the amazing ladies who joined us live today—your participation, engagement, questions, and feedback truly made the session impactful. ???? One of the most powerful moments for me was when we unmuted and repeated this affirmation together: “There was a time when my ancestors did not have autonomy over their bodies, but today I stand in power. I embrace my agency with every choice I make for my health and well-being. I honor the resilience and strength of those who came before me.” Today, we dove into some key topics: ?? Why Our Experiences Differ: We explored how and why Black women’s menopause transition experiences are unique. ?? Intersectionality & Menopause: We discussed a powerful case study of a professional Black woman navigating menopause through the lens of intersectionality. ?? Menopause 101: Because knowledge is power! We emphasized the importance of being informed to take action. ?? Treatment Options: From hormonal to non-hormonal, understanding our options is crucial to informed decision-making. ?? Tomorrow’s Focus: Mental Health & Burnout with Dr. Tricia and Ms. Morse. You won’t want to miss it! Even if you can’t join us live, make sure you register to get access to the replay and the playbooks. Remember, by the end of the week, you’ll have an actionable, personalized plan to guide your journey. ? ?? Link to register: https://bit.ly/4cLyPS6 ???? It’s Menopause Awareness Month, and Happy World Menopause Awareness Day! Yes, it’s a thing! Every October 18th, we recognize menopause and midlife as pivotal phases in a woman’s life. It’s a time to educate, raise awareness, advocate, and empower one another to thrive. I’m Dr. Fiona, aka Dr. Fi, founder of Black & Peri. My mission is to make menopause and midlife a celebratory, transformational experience for every woman. Did you know? Black women often experience menopause differently. We transition sooner, have more severe symptoms, and receive less specialized care. The SWAN study highlights the need for equity in Black women’s menopause care. Also, the MPACT study shows how menopause symptoms affect our careers: ? 1 in 4 women pass up leadership roles. ? 1 in 3 reduce their workload. ? 2 in 5 consider changing jobs—all due to menopause symptoms. Let’s change this! Join me for PeriCon Everywhere from October 21-25, a free virtual summit for Black women. Together, we’ll create a Menopause Transition Playbook to help us thrive through midlife and beyond. ????Join the conversation at PeriCon Everywhere, a free virtual menopause transition summit for Black women that I’m hosting: ?? Consider Monique, a 48-year-old Black woman who decides to transition from a corporate role to entrepreneurship during her menopause transition. She reflects on how her career and life priorities have shifted, and now, she wants to build a business that aligns with her values and health needs. Monique's shift shows how perimenopause can spark personal and professional realignment. Have you experienced a shift in your career or life priorities during menopause?
