5 years and counting.... This fall we celebrated our 5th anniversary by connecting 250+ youth, families, and community members to nature. From kayaking, and yoga to birding and fly fishing; families in our community had the opportunity to reconnect to our local parks in our home city of San Antonio. As we begin our 6th programming season of Black Outside, Inc, we are excited to begin offering more family programming for Black/African-American families across central Texas. Stay tuned for more... Special shout-out to our partners Urban Run Club San Antonio, San Antonio River Authority, Gardopia Gardens, Hunters of Color, and Orvis

One simple mission: Reconnecting Black youth to the outdoors
关于我们
With the knowledge that only 1% of Texas state park participants identify as Black/African-American, Black Outside is working to reconnect Black/African-American youth to the outdoors by reimagining programming for Black youth. Our programming is unique as we build off of the rich cultural history of people of color in the outdoors to craft immersive nature-based experiences that deepen a young person's understanding of self, their culture, and a greater appreciation for the outdoors. Proud and inspired by our amazing Director of Operations: Thurman Hogan III who was recently featured in the DallasNews Corporation for his work connecting Black youth to the outdoors. https://lnkd.in/gt9-EZVd
