Lisa an extraordinary individual whose lifelong commitment to improving maternal and child health has made a significant impact on her community in Lambeth. Born and raised in this vibrant borough, Lisa has spent over 10 years serving the very community that shaped her. Her unwavering passion for delivering inclusive and equitable healthcare stems from both her personal experiences and professional expertise. Through her work, Lisa embodies the essence of community-driven healthcare, where compassion, innovation, and advocacy work in tandem to improve lives. As a Black neurodivergent woman, Lisa's identity plays a significant role in her work. Her experiences navigating the healthcare system as a mother with visible and non-visible disabilities provide her with a deeper insight into the barriers that many families face. She uses this insight to challenge systemic inequities, advocating for changes that make healthcare more inclusive, accessible, and equitable. Lisa's ability to leverage her lived experience as a strength not only enriches her practice but also inspires others around her to rethink how healthcare is delivered. We are excited to announce another speaker Margaret Greer a resolute advocate for race equality and social justice, currently serving as the National Officer for Race Equality at the trade union Unison. Her commitment to combating racism and inequality earned her the prestigious Nelson Mandela Award, recognising her outstanding contributions in this fight. In her role at UNISON, Margaret provides strategic advice on race equality issues, including serving on the National Executive Committee and leading UNISON's National Black Members Committee. She played a pivotal role in developing UNISON's Race Discrimination Claims Protocol, demonstrating her initiative-taking approach to addressing systemic barriers faced by Black individuals in the workplace and wider community. Unison is the largest union in the United Kingdom with over 1.3 million members. Our members work across public services including health, local government, education and police services. Unison is the largest and strongest union for NHS staff. We represent nurses, midwives, AHPs, healthcare support workers and many others. We are committed to anti-racism and campaign for a fairer, just health services that does not allow or permit racism. We work tirelessly to support and represent health and care workers through our branch network which covers every health and care employer in the UK. National HIV testing week When is the last time you were tested? Early diagnosis leads to better long term outcomes. Testing is recommended at least once a year for most people. More frequent testing is recommended if there has been a regular change in partner/s. An undetectable viral load means that, that individual cant transmit the virus.
