Mastering the Interview: Two-Way Street We all know that once you secure an interview, the hiring authority is likely to check us out on LinkedIn, and perhaps even on Facebook, Instagram, or other social media platforms. But here's the twist: you should be doing the same! Research the Hiring Manager: Find out who they are on LinkedIn and other social media platforms. This isn't just about digging for dirt; it's about finding common ground. Maybe you attended the same university, studied similar courses, or share mutual interests. You might even have worked at the same company at different times. These connections can help you build rapport during the interview. It's a Two-Way Process: Remember, interviews aren't just about them assessing you. You're also assessing them. Learn about what they need, what they want, their aspirations, and their focus. This information can give you a more rounded view of whether the role is right for you. Avoid Unconscious Bias: While it's important to gather as much information as possible, don't let unconscious bias cloud your judgment. Use the interview to speak with them, learn Please show some love by checking out my new book "Practice Makes the Master: Your Quest to Mastery" at https://amzn.eu/d/98UjZtL Connect with me on LinkedIn at Arn Terry.
