Trust is NOT being able to predict someone’s behaviors. With enough time you can guess someone’s response to pretty much anything. The key ingredient to trust is not time, it’s courage. Trust is based on the courage to be vulnerable. If you refuse to be vulnerable, you can wave goodbye to teamwork and results.

Fake leadership fails. Artificial harmony damages trust. Why would we avoid conflict if we know it leads to true harmony? We live in pain for years to avoid a few short painful moments. Humans naturally are inclined to self-preservation, to avoid pain at all costs. You often already know it’s necessary, you just haven’t been willing to be uncomfortable yet.
