Katherine Johnson, one of the first Black women to work at NASA, broke barriers and made history with her extraordinary contributions to space exploration. Her legacy reminds us of the importance of investing in the potential of Black girls in STEM and supporting the educators who nurture that potential. As we gear up for another school year, we're committed to honoring Katherine's legacy by giving back to those who make a difference every day—our teachers. We're treating 15 Philadelphia-area teachers to an relaxing back-to-school experience, including massages, facials, and much-needed classroom supplies. Did you know that over 90% of teachers spend their own money on school supplies each year, averaging around $700? We believe it's time to change that, and you can help. Support our mission by making a donation today: givebutter.com/KJDay24. Your contribution will not only uplift these dedicated teachers but also support Black Girls Love Math, a program committed to eliminating racial and gender inequality in mathematics. Together, we can do our part to ensure our educators have the resources they need to continue inspiring the next generation of trailblazers. #SupportTeachers #BackToSchool #BlackGirlsLoveMath

Attended an AMAZING AERA session today showcasing Black Girls Thriving in mathematics! The significance of the symposium was to create a space for dialogue about methods, mechanisms, and practices that push back and disrupt racial injustice for Black girls. The Black women founders and CEOs of Black Girl MATHgic , Black Girls Do STEM , and Black Girls Love Math were truly inspiring! Here are a few pics from their presentations. Check out the math confidence kit from Black Girl MATHgic highlighting mathematician and researcher Dr. Nicole Joseph from Vanderbilt whose research focuses on the experiences of Black girls in math.
