Girls aged 10-17 explored the world of STEM through exciting hands-on workshops: ?? Drone programming and piloting ?? Circuitry and engineering activities ?? Coding a mini-hackathon on code.org We’re so inspired by the energy and creativity these young minds brought to the event! Together, we’re building a future full of innovators and tech leaders. ?? This scholarship covers conference registration, flights, and accommodations, ensuring that every student can dive into this transformative experience. Are you ready for what’s next? As the future unfolds before our very eyes, it's natural to feel a sense of uncertainty about what lies ahead. However, finding solace in the present and taking steps to support others can be incredibly grounding.? It’s how I reset. This week, I was truly uplifted after my conversation with Cristina Mancini, the visionary CEO of Black Girls Code (BGC). Her organization is doing phenomenal work by breaking barriers and creating opportunities for young women of color to thrive in the tech industry. Cristina shared her insightful perspectives on the transformative impact of BGC and her aspirations for the future of women of color in tech. She emphasized the importance of the upcoming AfroTech conference, where BGC will soon be sending its talented youth! This week has changed the game board, but the truth is that the future belongs to the next generations. And truth be told, I am still finding ways to point my focus on hope. What will you do to reset after this long week?

As the country reflects on this election, we’re reminded that the future we envision—one that’s inclusive, diverse, and equitable—depends on each of us. No matter the election results, our commitment at Black Girls Code remains the same: to ensure that Black girls and gender-expansive youth of color feel they belong in tech and know that they can shape not just the tech industry but the world.
