Black women claimed 42% of Team USA's women’s medals—a moment for young men and women of color to admire and strive. The 2024 Paris Olympics was a symbolic moment of HOPE. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Black women-owned businesses have soared! From 2017 to 2020, their numbers rose to 52,374, making up 37.2% of all Black-owned businesses. The health care and social assistance sector leads with 45,000 out of 161,000 Black-owned firms. These businesses provided income for approximately 1.4 million workers in 2021, with annual payrolls totaling $53.6 billion. This data highlights the resilience and growth of Black entrepreneurs, underscoring their vital role in the economy. Despite being smaller, with two-thirds having fewer than 10 employees, these businesses are a cornerstone of our communities and economic vitality.
