Reporter Ashley Smart has been talking to restaurants around the city this week to get an idea of how the RNC is shaping business. Read her story here:
Reporter at BizTimes Media | Seeking tech, startup and manufacturing story tips | [email protected] | @Biz_Ashley
Location, location, location. Several Milwaukee restaurants located outside the RNC’s security perimeter have struggled to secure bookings related to the event, while those located near Fiserv Forum are seeing more of a benefit. A few of the city's most prominent chefs, including Dan Jacobs and Adam Siegel, have expressed frustration with how this week is playing out. “For something that the city and Visit Milwaukee has basically sold us on being a boon to our economy…we haven’t seen that,” said Jacobs. “The small business owners I’ve talked to, none of us are seeing it.” Other business owners, including Victor Mader of Mader's and Marla Poytinger of Bars & Recreation have had to double staff numbers to keep up with demand. Learn more about what Milwaukee restaurants are experiencing in my story below. #RNC #Milwaukee #dining #restaurants #tourism https://lnkd.in/g_Sa7vwb
