?? Rescue efforts underway after Hurricane Milton ?? While BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Animal Incident Management (AIM) team continues to work tirelessly to support shelters and move pets to safety after Hurricane Helene, we are also on the ground in Florida, supporting shelters and the people caring for them after Milton devastated Florida. Emergency transports are already in progress today and preparations are being made for a large flight tomorrow. Relocating pets who were available for adoption before the hurricane creates much-needed space for displaced pets to be safely cared for until they can be reunited with their families, as well as provides critical relief to overwhelmed shelters, including one that had been destroyed by the hurricane. More lifesaving transports are underway!?? Today, nearly 70 cats and dogs from shelters in the Hurricane Helene impact zone were airlifted from Knoxville, Tennessee, to second chances in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia in partnership with Young Williams Animal Center. All of these pets were available for adoption before the storm. BISSELL Pet Foundation's Animal Incident Management team has deployed a team of three from our partner shelter, Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, to provide boots-on-the-ground support to the team at Young Williams Animal Center. The team continues to provide vital support as the shelter works to help impacted pets. Thank you to Petco Love for helping us make this flight possible today! With so many shelters in crisis following Hurricane Helene's devastation, BISSELL Pet Foundation has been working tirelessly to help shelter pets and the people caring for them throughout the Southeast. Yesterday, we provided transport and placement for nearly 80 cats and kittens from Tift County Animal Control in Tift County, GA, to start their new lives in Ohio. All of these cats were available for adoption before the storm, which devastated their shelter. Thank you to Cincinnati Animal CARE for welcoming these cats, and Rescue Riders Pet Transport for getting them to their second chances safely! ????
