Three facts about Micah Berkley, one of our founders - and why you should listen to him about AI: 1. He likes fancy cars - but maybe not why you'd think When he lived in Chicago, Micah turned down a job at Apple for BMW because it came with a fancy car. He then would drive that car around Chicago's neighborhoods, dressed in even fancier suits and jewelry. Kids would ask who he was, and he would say, "I'm in Tech." Those kids came to his talks to learn about technology because they saw a future they wanted. 2. He teaches AI to kids Micah has been teaching kids in Miami and beyond how to use AI to 'secure the bag.' His students now use Midjourney to help restaurants make more money. How? They go into a restaurant, take photos of some dishes, and then cook up the rest of the images with Midjourney. The restaurant uploads these photos—that look like their real dishes—to Uber Eats or Doordash and sees its profits rise 25%. Micah now has students in Africa designing menu imagery for London restaurants, making a month's salary in a day. 3. He is a master of AI precision marketing Imagine your house was damaged by hailstorms in counties across the South this past fall. Your roof is damaged, and the next storm is a few days away. Every roofer you call is busy. Micah uses AI and precision marketing to connect homeowners with providers who can help.
