Most of us take for granted we will celebrate, and be celebrated, on our one special day each year. It seems it should be such a simple thing to do, yet it's a luxury to have the finances, time, and energy to celebrate children's birthdays. In a world of stress and chaos, Birthday Connections' mission is to provide under-resourced families in Kansas City's urban core with a no-cost shopping experience on our Digital Marketplace. Gifts, experiences, sweet treats, books, and birthday cards! Families at no cost, choose the birthday gifts they want their children to receive. There are many positive attributes for children when they celebrate their birthdays. Please join us to make sure all children are celebrated on their special day!

    Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork and never is that truer than when nonprofit organizations work together. Through true collaboration partnering organizations create more depth of services and joint community impact through alingment of mission delivery! Yesterday through the spark of a partnership conversation a Birthday wish for a Little at Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City will come true thanks to Benita Webber and Birthday Connections. Though a meeting at another event and a starting conversation, when we received a call from a Big needing assistance, Benita and her team jumped in and worked with Carrie King to make it happen! I hope this is the start of a beautiful relationship where we work together with our communities of donors, funders and friends to keep collaborations like this going strong. How does your nonprofit work to create partnerships and collaborations for your impact area?

    Birthday Connections was honored to be chosen as a finalist for the KC CAN! Foundation grant and be awarded the $5000 we requested PLUS an additional $2500! Thank you to Chris Culbertson, Nick Giuliani, and fellow board members for their dedication to improving the quality of life for children in Kansas City!

    When I heard about the mission of @BirthdayConnections, I was hooked! They give dignity back to low-income families by allowing them to shop for birthday gifts for their kids. Benita Webber has done a phenomenal job setting up the system to allow privacy and dignity for the users of this service. It was my pleasure to attend a KC Can happy hour where Birthday Connections was awarded a $7,500 grant. This grant allows Birthday Connections to serve more families in the KC area.
